Geologi nel mondo is a non profit association located in Vergato (Bologna - Italy), associated to C.I.P.S.I. (Coordinamento di Iniziative Popolari di Solidarietà Internazionale).
Since 2003 we’ve been collaborating with local associations and non government organizations supporting projects in the developing countries, in order to ensure better life conditions to the local people.
Our main areas of intervention are water supply, natural resources protection, implementation of Geographic Information System, preservation of natural resources and evaluation, prevention and mitigation of geological and hydrogeological hazards.
We are currently working on several projects, such as:
- Realization of drinking water wells in Camerun
- Research on fertilizing properties of ‘Pozzolana’, a volcanic material existing in large quantity in western African regions, especially in Camerun, that potentially can be used as natural compost.
In Italy we set up lessons on Education to the development through promotion of principles of cooperation, participation, sustainability and solidarity in the framework of the activities of cooperation and international exchanges on the topic of the water realized by public institutions, schools and organizations of the civil society. Moreover, we carry out awareness raising activities on waters issues, environment and economic and social imbalances between north and south of the world.
